Meguiar's X3080 EvenCoat Applicator - Pack of 2 Review.

"The best pads you can get" 2009-06-05
By Franklin F. Smith (Portland, OR United States)

I have waxed a lot of cars in my day. I have been doing detail jobs on the side for years and I want to someday do it as a full-time job with my own business. I believe this makes me qualified to make an intelligent review. The thing about applicators is you don't want to use a towel or a foam pad. The towel isn't thick enough, and your hand will press funny in spots and not in others. Foam pads apply even pressure but the texture is weird and unsuitable for a truly good job. Now these pads are foam wrapped in microfiber cloth. They work great and you can wash them over and over again. I pretty much use only Meguiar's products and this is why. They make the best stuff out there.

 "Another must-have product from Meguiar's" 2009-07-31
By ken in the city

These pads are simply the best out there for applying wax. As another reviewer mentioned, they are basically a foam pad on the inside with a microfiber cloth wrapped around the exterior. This literally gives the best of both worlds! The foam interior gives the pad shape which allows for an even application of wax. The microfiber outside makes sure that you don't scratch your car as you apply it. Also, I've noticed that for liquid waxes in particular, a sponge applicator seems to absorb a lot of the wax into the sponge itself, which is sort of a waste. A rolled up microfiber towel avoids this absorption but it is very unwieldy and it's difficult to apply a smooth and even pressure on. Again, these applicators solves those issues by combining the two. Also, these pads are a nice size, probably about 5 inches in diameter, which allows you to cover a large area very quickly. I find the pads that come with many wax kits to be far too small, which just means more work for you to cover your car. Finally, washing these out is a snap and each applicator is durable enough for many waxes. Get these, you won't regret it!

"Works well, just as described.." 2010-06-18
By Ginger Blue Green (Green Bay, WI USA)

These are nice applicators & reasonably priced. I used them with Meguiar's G14422 Ultimate Quick Detailer & just wish I would have bought a few bigger micro towels to use with this product (my fault) but they hold up well & should be great for waxing.

 "Great pads!" 2010-08-29
By PB (USA)

I was skeptical that these would work as I have never had much luck with the old terry cloth versions. These are wonderful. Had to use an oxidation remover followed by polish and then wax. They worked great for each and were just really great at reducing the work on a pretty elbow grease intensive project. Great investment for $6.

"Love it and easy to use" 2010-09-18
By ronaldjoe (MYS)

I am using it with Meguiars gold class liquid wax. Great and easy to use. Even application with soft sponge. It traps dirt easily. Keep my ride shinny and clean.

"Meguiar's Soft Buff Foam Polishing Pad" 2008-11-16
By Good Gora (Marshfield, WI USA)

I was suprised how well and how easy they worked even on an extended van. It saves wear and tear on the shoulders.

 "Works well" 2010-07-16
By V. Chia

The pad works well. I use these primarily not for polishing but for applying glaze, but works well as a polishing pad. Either way, you should have several of these on hand if you're doing a job as you might need to swap out the pad for a fresh one as you saturate the pad with compound. Seems durable, already used a single pad on 4 jobs and still looks relatively new. I can't comment on much more because the rest is down to technique.

 "Excellent buy" 2009-09-12
By S. Kumar (NY, NY)

I couldnt find this product in any stores and so i bought it from amazon. Works great like it supposed to. No problems.

"Foam Pads Work Great (with a little problem)" 2008-06-20
By William W. Ofca (Hyde Park, NY)

I purchased and used these foam pads with my orbital sander machine and they worked great and did a fabulous job a polishing my boat. The small problem is how it attached to my orbital sander backing pad, which is a hook & loop type (Velcro). The backing of the foam pad is made for this type of attachment, but has a small fiber profile. The fibers should be larger and more aggressive for better holding power to the machine. After a short while of use, the foam pad would fly off the machine when I let go of the trigger and moved away from the surface I was polishing. I managed to finish the job by holding the machine and foam pad against the surface until it came to a full stop before removing the machine away. I never have this problem when using sanding disks.

 "Requires Expensive Backing Plate" 2009-05-02
By Larry F. Rogers (Aplace, MA USA)

This may be a great product from a functional standpoint, but it requires an expensive backing plate be purchased as well.

Be aware that if you are purchasing this pad for your polisher, you have to purchase the backing plate as well or it is USELESS.

Mr. Clean AutoDry Refill Filter, 10-Use Review.

 "Great Spot Free Shine" 2005-06-13
By Weaver Jones (Tampa, FL)

I recieved the Mr. Clean Auto Dry system for fathers day. Im usually skeptical about products that are new to the market place, and one with the incredible claim that this product makes, that it will give a spot free shine without using a towel, well quite frankly I was very skeptical about this products claim. I used it today and was very impressed. It took about 10-15 minutes to dry but when it did, my beautiful silver car looked better than when I used a shamois. It was very easy and it saved me the elbow work and the 20 minutes I would have spent drying the car. I am a big fan of the auto dry system, and will never towell dry again.

"Mr Clean AutoDry Refill Filter (10-Use)" 2005-08-23
By Gary R. Danforth

this so easy to work with. Watch the beads flow across your car as you apply it. Leaves a protection clear as glass. I've not only used it on our cars but on my snowblower, the awnings on our home & I'm thinking of other uses.

"Adds 50 cents a wash for a spot free dry" 2007-06-25
By E. J Tastad (Marion, IA United States)

These can be had for about five bucks at the local retail store. The Mr. Clean Auto Dry system works wonders if you have hard water from your garden hose that leaves spots on your cars. I live in an area with very hard water, and if I don't thoroughly dry my car immediately after every wash I will have hard water stains until I polish it.

The Mr. Clean Auto Dry system makes it so I have no water spots on the car, and sometimes a few very faint spots on the windows without any drying. So for 50 cents a wash and I don't have to dry my car, I am getting a great deal. I am very pleased with the results, the negative comments seem to be from people that aren't using the product correctly, or don't need to because they don't have hard water. If you have hard water, a product like this is a must.

 "It Works" 2008-09-23
By Ronald Sheaffer

The Mr. Clean AutoDry Filter worked great. It eliminated water spots and the need for a wipedown after washing the car. Rarely have I experienced a product that lived up to it's hipe.

The main drawbacks are the number of uses before needing to replace the filter and the fact that the cost of shipping re-orders is as much as the cost of product.

 "Actually works!!" 2009-08-26
By R C Lennon

I use the Mr. Clean AutoDry mainly for my motorcycle, as they take a lot of time to wash and dry. The AutoDry really works, and makes washing the cycle very easy and much less time consuming.

Mothers 05632 California Gold Car Wash - 32 oz Review.

 "Mothers Car Wash" 2009-10-22
By mord2 (Clarkston, MI)

This is my first time using mothers products and the car wash works great. It gives a great shine.

 "Mmmmmmmmm" 2009-03-30
By Kyle Cunningham (Maine, USA)

This is one of the best car washes I've ever used. What surprised me is how great this stuff smells! It's really a nice touch when washing your car to have such a pleasant odor, no joke. But the bottom line is that this does a great job of cleaning the car without anything hazardous to your vehicle. I use this on my Porsche Boxster S and know many other Porsche owners who swear by it for good reason.

Cheers

 "I like it" 2009-02-15
By ai chan1 (ca)

Out of the washes I tried, I like this the one.It make enough suds, doesnt leave too much residue when washed off.less water spotting. For a quick clean and shine this one works. But I still wax and polish the car.

 "GREAT CAR WASH" 2010-08-30
By Timazon (Hauppauge, NY USA)

The product works well. I've used it for years with good results. You don't need very much, I use 1/4 cup in a five gallon bucket. It cleans the car without stripping the wax, and dries to a streak-free clean.

"Great for cleaning, doesn't sud as well as expected" 2010-09-10
By Pewn (New York, NY USA)

This product is fantastic for cleaning. It has great suds when you use a lot, but they do die down pretty fast. I washed two cars, and had to use double the product.

That said, I can't complain when it got my car so very clean. It did no harm to the paint, and left it very glossy, perfect condition for additional steps (polish/wax).

"Battery Tender Plus Extender Cord" 2008-01-08

now i dont have to try and cover the charger outside it can stay in the garage

 "Works great" 2010-01-21
By R. Armstrong (Huntsville, AL USA)

I use this extension to allow me to mount the Battery Maintainer on a shelf in my garage that is near a power outlet. The extension allows me to drape it in the rafters of the garage and then the connections from the battery can come down from above. Before buying this extension I had to set the battery maintainer on the radiator of my truck with its hood up and run an extension cord over for the battery maintainer to plug into. With this extension cord I can unplug the battery maintainer, disconnect the battary maintainer connections from my truck battery and drape them over to the side, shut the hood and drive away. Before it was a hastle to disconnect the battery maintainer and move it over to the side of the garage before being able to drive off. The extension is worth the money to me for that convienence.

Garmin GPS Nuvi 265wt Accessory Bundle - Car Charger + Home Travel AC Charger + USB Data Cable + Free Stars Stripes Silicone Wristband Review.

"GPS Garmin 265wt and assessories" 2010-04-01
By Jeanie M. Wallace (Shalimar, FL, US)

I have tested my 265wt in the car, walking, and biking and it is such an improvement over the one that came with my car. I used it once on my bicycle by going to the most remote spot in our town and turned it on deep in some woods. It directed me to the front door of my residence and informed me I was home. Others I have had would just inform me that I "was in the area" and that"there would be no further directions". This is fine if you are in familiar area, but not if you are traveling alone in a strange city. The bike ride was funny since I received some strange looks from people who were walking when this deep male voice was coming from my bicycle telling me to turn left or turn right.

"AC charger works as advertised, haven't used the rest." 2010-06-27
By David P. Swanson

I bought this bundle for the AC charger, which I knew would not be included with the GPS. That, and because the description of the Nuvi 265WT (which I bought in the same order) seemed vague about whether a USB cable was included. Turns out the Nuvi does come with a USB cable (and a car charger). So if you're considering buying this because you think you'll need a USB cable, don't bother. I suppose if the 12V in-car charger that came with the unit dies or gets lost someday, the car charger will become useful. That's assuming I store it where I can find it. The 12V charger that came with the unit seems far more rugged than this one, by the way.

Bottom line: The one part I've tried, the AC adapter, works just dandy. It may even do double duty charging up an MP3 player, since the Nuvi end of it is just a garden-variety "mini-D" USB plug). But they don't advertise it for that function, so try it at your own risk!

"Accessories for Garmin Nuvi 365WT" 2010-06-01
By highwayman (Huntsville,TX)

Accessories are great when I received the correct ones. Company furnishing them sent the wrong charger claiming their inventory was mixed up. This results in poor customer service as far as I am concerned. They then told me to "through the wrong unit away."

"Listen Amazon, refund my money or I will never purchase anything from you ever again." 2010-08-03
By Marilyn P. Smith (Lafayette, LA, US)

I sent this GPS back to you one month ago and you will not even acknowledge you received it, much less refund me the price I paid for it. I sent it back because it would not even locate my home address on it. No, I was not pleased with the Garmin 265wt, and I am even less pleased with your handling (theft) of the money I paid for it, since you now have both my money and my returned GPS.

Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBD-II Scan Tool

|

Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBD-II Scan Tool Review.

"Excellent tool, manual needs some editing (see note below)" 2009-05-21
By A. Dent (Minas Anor, GD)

First of all, I must state that the scan tool worked well for my cars. Once connected it will:

- display diagnostic codes

- erase ALL codes

- retrieve I/M readiness status

- display the VIN number on 2002 or newer vehicles

- rescan

The MS300 supports the OBD II or OBD2 (On-Board-Diagnostics II) system and it understands all OBD2 protocols that a car may use: PWM, VPW, KWP2000, ISO9041, EKWP2000 or CAN. Once the proper protocol is detected, the MS300 is ready to display whatever Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) the car computer's memory may be holding.

It should be noted that:

# it only retrieves codes already stored in the computer

# it does NOT provide any 'real-time' monitoring

# it is completely stand-alone and no Web-updates are possible

# it does not have printing capabilities

# it is powered through the car's own DLC (Data Link Connector)

The manual while not completely accurate does offer sufficient information to successfully connect and operate the device. It also includes a printed list of over 1000 generic Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) definitions. 8000 more manufacturer specific DTCs can be found on the CD with more information at the company's own Web site.

In my case, I was able to diagnose within minutes the source for the 'Service Engine Soon' warning on my dashboard:

P0442 - EVAP Emission Control System Leak (Small)

I erased the codes and, if the warning reappears, I will know EXACTLY what to tell the technicians.

Given that I purchased this during one of Amazon's lightning deals, the price was right and I feel that I am getting a lot of value out of this little tool. The manual's small shortcomings do not compel me to subtract a star so, it's a 5-star device for me. I am happy I ordered it.

"anybody can figure out how to use this gizmo" 2009-12-20
By R. ippolito (hershey, pa)

I had a check engine light on my Toyota Camry 2001. I did a little research and found out that a computer scanner called an OBD II can be used as a diagnostic tool for most cars on the road today (1996 and newer with some exceptions). I decided to buy this affordable scanner rather than pay a mechanic $70 to $100 (plus sales tax, shop fees, and all their other nickle and dime fees) to read the code. When I got the Autel MaxiScan delivered, I read the instructions a couple of times. Then, I went out to the car and looked for the place to plug it in, which was right under the steering wheel. I plugged it in, turned the ignition key half way, pressed a few buttons on the scanner, and presto! It read P0401, which means egr flow insufficient. As it turns out, that is a common problem with 2001 Toyota Camrys. I cleared the engine light with the scanner, and unfortunately the engine light came back about 125 miles later. The P0401 code also came back.

I still have to resolve the problem, but at least I am not at the mercy of a mechanical telling me what is wrong with my car, or charging me a nice chunk of change for that information. If you get a check engine light on your car, I recommend you get this scanner and read the code before you go to an auto mechanic.

 "Does the job" 2009-03-16
By P. Timmins

Good Reader... for the money

Does CAN

Reads generic and specific codes

2 line backlit display thats easy read

simple for novice users

Reads VINs

35 bucks

Clears your engine light

gives status of readiness monitors

And thats pretty much it..... Its basic and it works.

Just dont expect it to have any other features.

 "Well worth it!" 2009-04-03
By Edwin K. Shelburne (Lexington, Ky)

As a professional technician i found that sometimes i just needed a quick scan of the code/codes and the ability to clear. This does just that. And it is also the least expensive i have found. I highly recommend it.

 "Very Cheap, Very Good" 2009-02-25
By D. Mckay (Austin, Tx United States)

Needed a code reader but didn't have lots of money to toss into one. Some of the instructions are a little bit off from the actual use of the scanner but overall it does what it should and doesn't cost a fortune.

Equus 3100 Innova CanOBD2 Diagnostic Tool Review.

 "Good, Fast, Easy" 2007-02-01
By Dan J. Reed

I am a professional Technician. This little handy dandy tool is fast, easy, and gets to the point of the problem with little to no issues.

Self powered, and can tell you current codes, pending codes, as well as what monitors have been run. Comes with a nice booklet that explains how OBDII works, and has a code chart for most cars.

Well made, Ive had mine for a few years now, its far easier to use then most "top dollar" scan tools.

Cannot show sensor values in real time.

Clears codes - Yes

Shows Codes - Yes

Shows Pending Codes - Yes

Shows if monitors have run - Yes

"Comprehensive and convenient OBD2 code reader" 2006-08-28
By misbehaven (Baltimore, MD)

This code reader is easy to use and provides comprehensive drive train diagnostic capability. Keep the instruction book handy, there is a lot of information on the display. This model will not read ABS/air bag faults (Equus does not make a reader for the ABS system).

"Payed for itself on first use" 2007-12-02
By Fred Moore (Reston, VA)

I bought INNOVA 3100 about 2 weeks ago because my MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) was on. Plugged it in after reading the manual. It said Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Heater was bad. Called Mitsubishi dealer: Cost of part $317.43 plus 30 minutes of shop time. Looked up a replacement on internet at a cost of $37 plus $10 for a special socket to remove and replace. Another $7 for a Sears crimping tool and I replaced the part and saved over $228 plus I have the INNOVA to use over and over again.

Some reviewers have said that they can't save reports in their computer. There is now a button on the INNOVA supplied program to "Save to File." This makes a test file of about 17 different test results. It is in .txt format and you can copy and paste it into a Word document if you want to dress up the format.

Both the PC CD and the tool worked fine right out of the box. The unit comes with two cables: One to plug into the OBD2 socket under the dashboard of your car, and the other to plug into a USB socket on your PC. The INNOVA has built in memory to save readings obtained during a drive and then subsequently provide the data to your PC.

I am VERY PLEASED to give this unit FIVE STARS.

"Must have and easy to use!" 2008-03-31
By kegler280 (Ewa Beach, HI.)

The last trip to the local dealer cost me 165.00 to get a repair estimate of 2550.00 which ultimately cost me 640.00 to have repaired at an outside shop. When my check engine light came on I knew it was time to invest in this tool. This tool is very easy to use and basically boils down to plugging it into the diagnostic terminal in your vehicle and turning the ignition key on. Follow the prompts to select the vehicle type then let the reader do it's thing. The reader will display any hard codes (existing problems) and pending codes (potential problems). Once you retrieve the codes you can do a little research and determine if it's something you might want to tackle yourself or leave to the professionals.

The check engine light went out while I was waiting for the tool to arrive. I was still able to retrieve a trouble code and could make a determination whether or not it was something that needed immediate attention.

Turned out that the O2 sensor was going bad. I purchased a sensor from Amazon for approx. 40.00 and installed it in a couple of minutes. I erased the trouble code using the tool and verified the problem was fixed. The dealer wanted 120.00 for the sensor and charge over a hundred dollars just to touch your vehicle. The tool paid for itself the first time I used it. The tool is worth the cost even if I never use it again!

The program used to upload the info from the reader to your computer is called Teklink and comes on the supplied CD. About the upgrade, it consists of replacing the Teklink program with a program called Repair Solutions. Just click on the Tools button in Teklink then the Upgrade button. You'll be connected to the website. According to the website, this program provides more comprehensive information such as pinpointing why the check engine light came on, get a better understanding of why the failure occurred and what parts and tools are required to make the correct repairs. There are a couple of caveats though. The change is permanent. You cannot go back to the Teklink program except for information on vehicles previously diagnosed using Teklink. There are limits as to how many vehicles you can diagnose using Repair Solutions. According to the website, you can register 3 vehicles to your account and create 3 reports per vehicle per month. You may replace vehicles on your account (delete an old one and add a new one) two times per calendar year. There does not appear to be any such limitations using the Teklink program. I don't plan on using this tool more than that but I would like to have that option. For this reason, I chose not to upgrade to the new program at this time so I can't comment on it. Also, from reading other reviews, there appears to be a charge for this. I think that there's enough free information available (websites, forums...etc.) so you really shouldn't have to pay for this additional information.

All in all this is a great tool and a must have for DIYers. Even if you don't intend on doing your own repairs this would be a great tool to have. This way you'll have a good idea of what the problem is and help prevent getting ripped off by unscrupulous dealers and repair shops.

Wagan 4-Way 12V Automotive Socket Extender Review.

 "Heavy duty splitter" 2007-09-11
By H. K. Pierce

This splitter is HEAVY and bulky. But if located correctly, these are advantages. I was using all 4 outlets with multiple swaps going on all day by people from different angles in the van, and there was never a problem with intermitant contact or loose contacts. I attribute that to the heavy casing and the heavy outlets. The only caution are the two tabs used to attach the splitter. They appear to be undersized if the splitter is hung. I used both the provided double-sided tape and the tabs to hang my splitter - it is quite stable.

"Different then picture, only better" 2010-05-15
By W. Jones (Meadville, PA USA)

I received this item fast and I installed it in about 5 minutes. It came with double sticky tape and 4 screws so you can choose which method is best for you. I chose the screws because I wanted a more secure installation. I drilled the holes and mounted the bracket and the unit attached easily. I plugged it in and hooked up my key fob charger, phone charger and radio transmitter and had all 3 operating without a hitch. The unit is sturdy and mounted with the screws I had no problems plugging and unplugging my devices. The only thing I can complain about is that the item I received was not the same as the picture so they must have substituted. I have no problem with that as the substitution in my opinion is better looking and it works awesome. I would buy another if I owned another vehicle. I recommend this to everyone.

I uploaded 4 pictures also so you can see the unit installed.

Meguiar's G110v2 Professional Dual Action Polisher

|

Meguiar's G110v2 Professional Dual Action Polisher Review.

"Very easy to use with excellent results!" 2010-03-24
By Dave's two-cents on this (Honolulu, HI)

I've been detailing my own cars by hand application for 20 years. Never used a polisher before because I always heard that applying products by hand is the best method. This was a tried and true method for me, but the car colors I've had before were white, silver, and burgundy. Pretty easy and manageable colors. Now I've finally purchased my first black car thinking that it couldn't be as hard as people say it is. Boy was I wrong! I should have looked up car care on the internet first. As one person had put it, "Caring for a black car isn't a chore, it's a second job!" Doh! Wish I read about that BEFORE I bought the black car.

After looking at the results of my first detail job on that car, there were swirls galore and weird fingerprint impressions that I couldn't buff out by hand. In fact I only made it worse as I tried to correct it. I was determined to learn how to detail a black paint finish correctly and not pay someone else to do it. After talking to some people who do professional detailing work, they said the best and easiest way to get rid of the swirls is to use a Dual Action Buffer like the Porter Cable. My first thought was "Yikes! That thing looks like it can strip the paint off the car!" Now you are probably wondering why I mentioned the Porter Cable when I'm writing a review for Meguiar's G110v2? Meguiar's is a brand I've used for years and their products are ones that I've trusted because of their easy application and awesome results. Not to say that other brands aren't good, it's just that everyone eventually becomes partial to using certain products that suits their style. The Porter Cable is a great tool, but after finding the G110v2 on the internet, I decided to take a chance on this one purely because of the Meguiar's name. Plus the video reviews on the internet were positive.

After claying the car, applying the polish (which made the car look awesome), followed by polymer sealant to protect it, the black paint looks absolutely stunning. You can tell it's stunning because pedestrians do a double-take when they see my car driving by. Not trying to brag here, they really do look! When the car's finish was ugly, nobody was looking. Now it seems to attract too much attention. I just wanted a nice clean car, I wasn't expecting a showroom stopper. It is so easy to achieve that stunning and flawless look with this machine that I regret all those years of detailing by hand. Simply put, I am never going back to my old ways of detailing. It's incredibly difficult to get the same results by hand that can be done quicker and easier with a buffing machine.

To summarize, here what you want to know:

1) Very easy to use, even if you have no prior experience with polishing buffers. You cannot screw up with this buffer.

2) Results are beyond amazing.

3) It does help to watch some how-to videos on the internet and pay close attention to their "technique". Search for "how to remove swirls" or "how to use a porter cable 7274" or simply "G110v2 review". The technique or method of using a polishing buffer is more important than the buffer itself.

4) If you choose to go with the Porter Cable, you will get the same results but keep in mind that the Porter Cable does feel "heavier" in your hands than the Meguiar's. But that is a personal preference and you should try to find a display model or a friend who has one so you can decide for yourself. The Meguiar's feels more comfortable to me, maybe due to the shape and weight distribution?

5) The G110v2 feels solid and well made. The motor is very powerful and comes with a long power cord.

6) I would buy this product again and would highly recommend it to other people.

"WOW! Best of the class for auto/boat/plane Polishing/detailing!" 2009-12-27
By Frank E. Trinkle (Valdosta, GA USA)

This is Meguiar's new and updated random orbit dual action polisher... and it is one very sweet machine! With a host of new features, it is clearly in a class of its own, and tailored specifically for its intended purpose unlike other brands that try to be jacks of all trades.

The first thing you notice is the ergonomic top handle, unlike the side handhold on most other random orbit sanders (ROS). This handle allows for precision in a comfortable manner while making the weight of the unit easy to manage. Motor speeds have been expanded with the ROS now capable of between 1800-6800 RPM at 4.2amps. The 1800 speed is the lowest available in any of its competitors, and is important for some detail work.

Meguiar also looked carefully at the way that people use polishers and the unit has two features that really protect the machine and your paint:

* The machine has a staged startup, meaning that it doesn't slam to its full set speed the instant you turn it on. This saves a great deal of wear and tear on the motor

* The machine won't bog down under pressure. It senses additional pressure and speeds up the motor back to the set speed. Other units bog down easily under pressure.(Internal feedback circuit increases torque when downward pressure is applied)

Meguiar's put the ROS through its paces by testing it at one of the largest car auction centers in the USA. They have not had a single failure and use of the ROS has been all day virtually every day with over 400 hours of run time on each of their units.

Meguiar's has really sweetened the deal on this unit by INCLUDING a W68DA Soft Buff 2.0 DA Backing Plate, (hook and loop Velcro base plate) that runs about $30 if purchased separately... and a durable logo'd canvas bag for storage and transport. It's a VERY nice bag! Really! Yes, Really!! Spare motor brushes are in the box, along with all the tools you would need to change the plate or brushes. Awesome attention to detail.

Using the polisher is a dream. It is smooth and almost vibration-free. Much less vibration than the Porter Cable models. The motor is not overly loud, and the new rubber power cord is manageable with a 45 degree exit from the body.

SCARED OF DAMAGING YOUR PAINT?? Don't be. Dual Action, Random Orbit systems are designed to eliminate the problems of Rotary Polishers that should only be used by professionals with training. ROS systems will not allow you to to damage to your paint and are perfect for not only professional detailers, but for we home car appearance fanatics too! Don't be frightened of using this system, you WON'T hurt your vehicle!

Primary competition for this unit is the Porter Cable 7424XP Random Orbit Sander (PC) which is also used by thousands of detailers. The primary differences between the two (and both are the same price on Amazon) are as follows:

- The G110v2 has less vibration than the PC

- Fit and finish is much nicer on the G110v2. It just looks a lot nicer than the typical PC grey. The 110v2 also feels better in your hands due to ergonomic handle design.

- G110v2 throttles up when sensing a bog down... much more than the PC

- The speed dial is much smoother on the 110v2 than the PC, and the 110v2 has a wider speed range with the lowest speed at 1800 RPM

- The 110v2 INCLUDES the hook and loop (Velcro) backing plate, storage bag, tools, and motor brushes in the package. PC comes naked.

- The ONE advantage of the PC over the 110v2 is a three year warranty vs. one year on the 110v2.

Here's what you need in addition to the 110v2 itself to get going...

* Polish/Wax application Pads (Soft Buff 2.0 recommended by Meguiar's (no surprise...) for use with this backing plate), or any of the Lake Country pads with hook and loop backing.

* Compound, paint cleaner, polish and wax of your choosing. ( I prefer all of Meguiar's products over any others... and all available at great prices on Amazon!)

* Towels. (Microfiber is absolutely the best)

* A vehicle in need of defect removal or a good polish/wax job.

This unit receives my highest recommendation as an extremely well designed and engineered tool. It is "pretty" as well as functional, and Meguiar's has seen fit to include extremely useful additions like the backing plate and bag that others simply don't. Amazon offers this unit for about $30.00 less than buying direct as well, and with PRIME, I had it in two days free shipping. Awesome.

5+ out of 5 stars for this super unit! Get it... you won't be sorry!

 "Easy to use. Loud." 2010-07-01
By APF (CA USA)

I am very satisfied with G110v2. It is comfortable to hold and easy to use. It does vibrate, but not uncomfortably. It is quite loud. I was surprised that on this Dual Action polisher the pad would slow or even stop rotating under load, but then I learned that the pad rotation on this machine is not forced and that machines with forced pad rotation are considerably more expensive. Still, the machine worked well. This DA Polisher has a speed control and I needed different speeds for cutting/polishing and for glaze application, so it worked nicely.

I used the G110v2 with Meguiar's W9006 6.5-Inch Soft Buff Foam Finishing Pad and Meguiar's W7006 6.5-Inch Soft Buff Foam Cutting Pad. The pads stayed securely on the included hooks and loops backing plate. They did not fly off even when I turned the polisher on with no load to spin water out of the pad I just washed.

I applied three different products to my car: Meguiar's M10532 Ultra Cut Compound, Meguiar's M20532 Ultra Finishing Polish, and Meguiar's M-0716 Mirror Glaze Professional Show Car Glaze. 16 oz. liquid with this polisher and I am sure it saved me a lot of time and muscle pain compared to attempting to do the same by hand.

Awesome polisher... used to remove swirl marks from my black paint (check out the picture I added).

Step 1: Meguiar's M10532 Ultra Cut Compound w/ cutting pad

Step 2: 32 oz. Meguiars Mirror Glaze #205 Ultra Finishing Polish w/ polishing or finishing pad

Step 3: Meguiar's M-0716 Mirror Glaze Professional Show Car Glaze. 16 oz. liquid (hand application)

Step 4: Meguiars Gold Class Wax (hand application)

By Just A Guy in SF (San Francisco, CA)

Works fine. The screw holding the handle to the buffer kept getting unscrewed as I used it. Maybe I didn't set it up correctly not sure. Takes some getting used to, but definitely saves elbow grease. A bit noisy, I felt a bit self-conscious using it in the driveway.

Ez-Pass Ez Pass Electronic Toll Tag Holder East Coast Version Review.

 "Great!" 2007-08-30
By DejaLiyah (NY, USA)

This is great if you plan on selling your car, or use multiple cars, or just lend your your EZpass to others. it stays on well and portable unlike that velcro that is kinda permanent.

 "Love this item." 2009-04-07
By Pamela Hans (Glen Rock, NJ)

I purchased this item for my new car and love it. Before I had the hook and loop to hold my EZ PASS on the window. Every time I would change cars it was a hassle. Now it comes off easy and there's no problem. Also, it stays up and is really easy to use. Recommend this product.

"Look Ma, no tacky tape...easy moved from car to car" 2009-04-04
By R. N. Sammer (Barnegat, NJ USA)

This EZPass holder is great. I purchased one and put it up right away.

If you place it where the instructions tell you to put it (on the right hand side of the rear view mirror), you can place it so that it DOES NOT interfere with your front or rear view and the EZPass box can be removed and re-inserted.

Also, Microfiber Products is an excellent company to work with.

"No More Double Sided Velcro Tape on My Windshield!!!" 2008-09-28
By K. Ali (New York, NY)

I purchased two of these... one for my husband and one for myself. I personally love it. With the usual attachment of Velcro on my windshield... I used to hate how it would look from the outside looking into my car. I now have a new car and would not make that mistake again. It looks neat, and I don't have those ugly velcro tabs anymore to stare at while walking to my car. As for my husband.. well I am hoping he puts it to action right away... because he is always taking the ez-pass in and out while passing thru the toll.... I think it is a great price for the money and I think I saw it at Bridgstone or Autozone for about $10.00. It arrived in a couple of days... Why didn't I do it sooner!

 "Great Product" 2008-10-12
By A. Lorenzo (NJ)

This product is great. I have a new car and didnt want to put up the strips that come with the easypass because they are so hard to take off so I bought this product and it holds the ezpass very well and has not fallen off.

K&N 99-5050 Filter Care Service Kit - Squeeze

K&N 99-5050 Filter Care Service Kit - Squeeze Review.

 "Squeeze bottle rocks" 2007-06-16
By Steven Brown (sebastopol, CA)

I love the squeeze bottle ... the aerosol bottle just sprays everywhere and is harder to control quantity and where it hits. It also seems harder to judge when you have applied to much, or too little.

With the squeeze bottle, you simply apply an even amount along the ridges on both sides of the filter and allow time for the oil to soak down into the fibers of the filter.

This way, you can start with a smaller amount and if it isn't enough to "soak to the middle" you know you need more, and can judge how much more based on how much you applied the first time and how much white space is left. After time, you start to get a good feel for the amount of oil needed to re-oil the filter.

K&N filters are also specifically distributed with a spec sheet showing the amount of oil needed, and this information can also be viewed on the K&N website. For instance, my car's filter requires 1.24oz of oil to re-oil the filter.

With the squeeze bottle it is very easy to determine how much oil has been applied - it's just liquid in a bottle and there is a gauge so you can see how much oil is in the bottle when you start, how much is left as you work, and therefor how close you have come to the K&N recommended amount of oil for a proper re-oiling job. With the spray can, knowing how much oil you have dispersed is difficult if not impossible.

Hope that helps!

 "Well worth it!" 2008-08-13

I clean my filter every 15k miles and I am still on my first kit that i have had for well over a year. It does a great job and the filter looks brand new sfter you have completed the clenaing process. Pays off for itself in no time. I would recomend to anyone!

 "K&N Recharge kit" 2008-05-27
By L. C. Lambert (SoCal)

This is a "must have" for any K&N filter or CIA kit. I even use K&N's kits for other "wet" air filters. If you want to getthe full life out of your K&N, this kit is a must-have. Remember to follow the instructions so as to not harm the filter element when cleaning.

Cheers,

"Must Have for K&N Owners" 2006-06-28
By A. Reader (AL USA)

I have owned many K&N filters over the years. Don't event think about purchasing a filter without the cleaner kit. Go ahead an get it when you buy the filter; that will be one fewer excuse you have when it's time to do filter maintenance.

"Great Price. Performance is Better." 2007-08-19
By J. Perez (College Station, TX USA)

Clean your filter with this kit. The spray is the cleaner and does a great job in just 10 minutes. The oil will be applied to each of the ridges of the filter and you have about 4 filter oilings in the bottle. The shipping was fast.
